Hello and I hope you enjoyed viewing my artwork..
For as long as I can remember I was always doodling in some form of art whether it was crayoning as a toddler or crafting something out of material and shoe boxes as a small child.
Art was my favourite subject in grade school and I so enjoyed the creativity of designing or drawing something. I remember that when there were projects to do in history or geography, I could hardly wait to enhance my projects with some artistic detail. (It most assuredly brought my marks up lol.) I believe, that when you thoroughly enjoy something, you put your heart and soul into whatever it is you're creating and the results are always gratifying.
I never persued continuing on with studies of art in College or University preferring to become a 'working gal'. In some ways I wish I had but that's all in hindsight. Our paths in life lead us down different turns and to regret something is not productive. Each road we take is a learning path. I did, however, take some extra curricular fun art classes at a local community centre which was very enjoyable! Basically, I am self taught and ever curious in reading on many different art techniques.
I decided, in my 20's, to see how my art appealed to others and entered a few of my works in some local Fairs that had juried shows.
To my greatest surprise and pleasure, quite a few of my works won ribbons!
I must tell you, one of the greatest thrills I've ever experienced is seeing a first prize ribbon hanging from one of my paintings ( I liken it to the thrill an actor feels getting an Oscar haha). So, here I am 20 plus years later and I still enjoy painting when I have a chance and the time. I plan on making more time for it since a health scare this past Spring has forced me to slow down. Perhaps, as the saying goes, "when one door closes, a window opens up".
Remember to always strive to be a.....
Live your Dream.... warmest regards, Baya
